Bicycle Advisory Committee Seeking to Fill Two Vacancies

The Ada County Highway District is currently accepting applications for individuals interested in serving on the Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC). The Highway District is seeking to fill two vacancies with engaged bicycling advocates residing within Ada County.

The intent of the BAC is to provide guidance to the District on road design, maintenance needs, and other needs specific to cyclists. The group collaborates on opportunities to implement innovative solutions for ACHD's procedures and practices in an effort to make Ada County a safer community for all cyclists.

The BAC meets as a group on the first Monday of each month from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. Currently, the Advisory Group meets virtually, though the meeting schedule and format may change in 2022.

The chosen members will be appointed by the ACHD Commission President with the advice and consent of the ACHD Commissioners. The BAC committee members may provide recommendations. Members are to serve a two-year term with opportunities for extended terms.

Ada County residents with a passion for bicycle advocacy are encouraged to apply. Those interested in this volunteer opportunity can send a letter of interest through Contact Us or fill out this online form. Applications should be submitted by COB on Thursday, August 26, 2021.
