Commission approves FY21-25 Integrated Five-Year Work Plan; Bike and Ped Plans

The Ada County Highway District Commission voted unanimously to approve a new resolution, the FY21-25 Integrated Five-Year Work Plan, and two bike and pedestrian plans at their weekly Commission meeting yesterday evening.

  • Resolution 2328 earmarks future net surplus funds from FY21 to go toward Community Programs projects that address existing deficiencies and bike and pedestrian needs within Ada County.
  • The FY21-25 Integrated Five-Year Work Plan programs construction projects and other activities for the Ada County Highway District for the next five years.
  • The North Meridian Neighborhood Bike and Pedestrian Plan, through a robust public outreach effort, identifies several areas where bicycle and pedestrian improvements are needed. As a result of these efforts, the team identified 87 recommended projects.
  • The Garden City Neighborhood Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan was also unanimously adopted by the Commission. The project team spent the better part of a year working in the community to get public feedback on areas of need. This resulted in 44 recommended future projects.

While the adoption of these two pedestrian and bicycle plans does not commit ACHD to construct any particular project, the Commission's approval allows staff to move forward with the process of prioritizing and programming these future projects in those areas.
