The Ada County Highway District would like to update you as to what we are doing to prepare and help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
- Our offices remain open to the public, but we will have limited staff on hand. In an effort to help curb the spread of the infection and to protect our staff, employees who are not needed for crucial operations will continue their important work from home. They can still be contacted via email and phone.
- Our lobbies have been newly equipped with a hand sanitizing station. We ask that members of the public entering the building please sanitize their hands and refrain from coming into close contact with team members (within 6 feet).
- If you are ill or being quarantined, please avoid coming to the Ada County Highway District until you have recovered and/or your quarantine has been lifted.
- ACHD crews have been equipped with hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes and are taking precautions to wipe down areas in their vehicles that they have touched before the next person uses the vehicle. Our cleaning service has also ramped up efforts to sanitize ACHD offices.
- The ACHD Commission meetings will continue to be streamed, but our Commissioners will be calling in to take part in the meetings. Members of the public are still welcome to attend, but seating is limited due to the 6-foot distance requirement set in place by health officials. People can call in to the Commission meetings using a number which will be published before Wednesday's meeting (March 18th).
- Commission meetings will be held promptly at noon the first, second, and third Wednesdays of the month, with the fourth meeting being an evening meeting that takes place at 6 p.m. There is no meeting in the event of a fifth Wednesday during the month. If you are a member of the public and are planning to call in with a question or comment for our Commissioners, please plan to be on time, as meeting agendas are being kept strictly to crucial business and could go quickly.
- Those with questions or comments for the Commissioners can call in using a number which will be published before Wednesday's meeting.
- As recommended by the CDC, ACHD has cancelled all public involvement meetings for the next couple of months. Any upcoming public involvement meetings will be held online on our website. Those without access to the internet can call ACHD at 208-387-6100 and request that materials and comment sheets be sent to them.
Crucial operations at ACHD will continue, and leadership of the Highway District will continue to assess and re-evaluate the situation as things progress.
