"This is a very prestigious award that acknowledges the great effort ACHD puts into maintaining high-quality roads throughout the county," said Scott Forrey, Pavement Management Engineer. "We are thrilled to be recognized for our efforts."

ACHD's Pavement Management Program has effectively utilized chip seal, crack seal and micro seal to protect the surface of a street from wear, water and weather damage. By doing so, ACHD has consistently been in the "excellent/very good" category for the Pavement Condition Index (PCI), the system used to measure the quality of the road.

"ACHD is honored to accept this award," said Lloyd Carnegie, ACHD Maintenance Manager. "The true success of our Pavement Preservation Strategy is all of our hardworking employees who go out every day and battle the weather, traffic and other elements to fill potholes, as well as, crack seal, chip seal, and micro seal our roadways to ensure we have the highest PCI rating in the Northwest."

ISSA will hold an award ceremony on Thursday, February 20th during their annual convention in San Antonio.
