General Equipment Operators

Ada County Highway District is now accepting applications for General Equipment Operators on several crews. These are full-time, non-exempt positions with a starting wage range of $22.00 - $25.50 per hour, DOQ.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform skilled work and operate light- to heavy-duty maintenance equipment. Also operate winter maintenance equipment for plowing, sanding, and deicing the roads.
• Responding to winter weather conditions are an essential function of these positions and may require working outside of normal work hours.

Qualifications:

• Must have a current Idaho Class A CDL license. If license is from another state, must be able to obtain an Idaho CDL by start of employment. Must obtain a tanker endorsement within 30 days of employment.
• Experience driving dump trucks is required, and experience with sander/anti-icing unit is a plus.
• Requires ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Any combination of education, training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be acceptable.
